WEST POINT, N.Y. (Army News Service, Sept. 8, 2006) - The EPSN Classic broadcast of Saturday's 2006 home opener, the 83rd in the illustrious history of Michie Stadium, will be streamed live on the internet via the Army Knowledge Online Web site as the Black Knights host Mid-American Conference foe Kent State.

Now in its second season, a cooperative effort between ESPN and the Department of the Army will provide a video stream of ESPN's telecasts of Army's five home football games this fall, as well as the AT&T Corps Classic pitting the Black Knights and Texas A&M from the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas, on Sept. 16.

One of the driving factors behind Army's exclusive multimedia pact with ESPN, signed prior to the 2005 campaign, was that ESPN also agreed to make its telecasts available live, free-of-charge, to Soldiers and military personnel around the world via the Internet.

After entering their user ID and password to gain access to the site, visitors will be provided a direct link to connect to the video stream of Army's ESPN telecasts. The telecasts will contain special advertisements and messages to the troops abroad and will also be archived on the site for users to enjoy throughout the season.

This week's game will be televised nationally on ESPN Classic with kickoff at Michie Stadium set for 1 p.m. AKO visitors will be afforded access to a video stream of the ESPN Classic telecast at that time.
