Belvoir recognizes Soldier and NCO of the Quarter

FORT BELVOIR, Va. -- Spc. Dana Singleton and Sgt. Gregory Lefebvre were recently selected as Fort Belvoir's Soldier and NCO of the Quarter.

An official ceremony acA,Aknowledging their achievements took place Friday at installation headquarters with Installation Commander Col. Jerry Blixt and Installation Command Sgt. Maj. Gabriel Berhane attending.

'There's no greater competiA,Ation than wearing a uniform and competing,' Blixt told the pair. 'We're proud of your accomplishA,Aments and wish you both continA,Aued success in your careers. Keep doing what you're doing.' In addition to her duties as aviation operations specialist, Singleton is also the installation's BOSS representative for the 12th Aviation Battalion. She joined the Army in 2006 and received basic combat training while servA,Aing at Fort Jackson, S.C.

'I was nervous going through this process, but I had a lot of to help me prepare for my inA,Ahelp from my fellow Soldiers and terview. This is definitely my I couldn't have done it without them,' Singleton said. 'I studied a lot and even used flash cards biggest achievement since joinA,Aing the Army.' Lefebvre is a member of Belvoir's 911th Engineer Battalion and serves with the company's 2nd squad 2nd plaA,Atoon as a technical rescue engiA,Aneer. A native of Gaithersburg, Md, he joined the Army in 2005 and has served overseas in supA,Aport of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

'This was my first time goA,Aing through this and I was quite surprised when I found out I was selected,' Lefebvre said. 'I was constantly studying and my platoon was a big help in getting me prepared. We even did mock boards to help me feel more comfortable. I really appreciate all their help.' During his remarks, Berhane congratulated the two for their hard work and held them up as examples other Soldiers could follow.
