ANSBACH, Germany - The commanding generals of the U.S. Army Materiel Command

and U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, along with their senior enlisted staff members, visited the 12th Combat Aviation Brigade at Katterbach Army Airfield here, Feb. 25.

General Ann E. Dunwoody, AMC Commanding General, and Maj. Gen. Paul S. Izzo, Commander of RDECOM, met with 12th CAB commander Col. Robert C. Doerer and key brigade leaders before visiting Company B, 412th Aviation Support Battalion. Afterward, the generals had lunch with 12th CAB officers and then visited with Soldiers and civilian contractors at the post's vehicle reset program hangar.

Dunwoody became the first female in U.S. history to be promoted to four-star general. Before being appointed as AMC commanding general and chief of staff, she served as the Army deputy chief of staff for logistics in Washington, D.C.
