Army to webcast symposium events

By Army Public AffairsFebruary 25, 2009

The U.S. Army will be webcasting key press conferences at this week's Winter Symposium of the Association of the United States Army conference, opening the doors for individuals across the nation and globe to have their questions answered by some of the Army's experts from fields including science and technology.

The AUSA Winter Symposium is being held in conjunction with the United States Army Materiel Command, the United States Army Training and Doctrine Command, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics and Technology and the U.S. Army Research, Development and Engineering Command.

The event will take place at the Broward County Convention Center in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., but through the Web individuals will be able to participate in the conference even if they're miles away. This is the first time this ability is being brought to the Winter Symposium.

The symposium's theme is "Ensuring Persistent Commitment in an Era of Persistent Conflict: Win, Adapt, Prepare." According to the Association of the United States Army's web site, "A central focus of the symposium is the Army's progression towards transforming while conducting combat operations." The symposium will include special guests and panel presentations focusing on equipment, personnel, doctrine and training.
