REDSTONE ARSENAL, Alabama -- The U.S. Army Space and Missile Defense Command/Army Forces Strategic Command's top financial adviser closes chapter on his military career.

Col. Michael Cook, USASMDC/ARSTRAT deputy chief of staff G-8, retired among family and friends at the command's Redstone Arsenal headquarters April 29.

During the ceremony Cook received the Distinguished Service Medal, an American flag, a certificate of appreciation, a three-star note, and a certificate of retirement and pin.

Cook retires from the Army with 28 years of military service.
