5-1 Cavalry Squadron Commander's Intent

5-1 Cavalry "Blackhawks" conducts reconnaissance and security operations to set the conditions for 1/25 SBCT to accomplish the combatant commander's intent. On order 5-1 CAV deploys worldwide in support of global contingencies as directed.

Intent:

The Purpose of the Squadron is to maximize the Brigade's ability to decisively employ combat power ensuring the Arctic Wolves maintain the advantage on the battlefield.

Key Tasks:

- Conduct reconnaissance of enemy forces by maximizing the teaming of ground scouts, UAVs, and CBRN reconnaissance assets

- Provide precision lethal and non-lethal fires to destroy enemy high value targets as required

- Utilize all assets (organic or attached) to provide timely, accurate, and relevant information supporting the Brigade and adjacent unit missions

- Maintain the skills, ability, and readiness levels to deploy on short notice worldwide to support the Brigade, USARAK, or PACOMs Commanders' Intent

End State:

The Squadron is trained and poised with systems in place to maintain readiness in support of worldwide contingency missions ranging from Decisive Action to Humanitarian Operations, or anything in between.
