Two 10th AAMDC Soldiers Die in Car Accident

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany (April 8, 2016) -- Two 10th Army Air and Missile Defense Command Soldiers died near Landstuhl, Germany, April 6.

U.S. Army Capts. Brandon W. Fuhrman, 30, and Douglas J. Wercinski, 31, were pronounced dead at the scene from injuries sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Both were assigned to Headquarters Battery, 10th AAMDC, as plans officers.

Fuhrman was from Pennsylvania. He joined the Army in 2008. His previous assignment was Fort Lewis, Washington. He also had multiple deployments, including one to Iraq (2010) and one to Afghanistan (2013). His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the NATO Medal and the Combat Infantryman Badge. He is survived by his wife and one child.

Wercinski, was born in Texas and joined the Army in 2007. His previous assignments include Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Stewart, Georgia. He also had multiple deployments to Iraq (2009) and Afghanistan (2013). His awards include the Bronze Star Medal, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medal and the NATO Medal.
