VICENZA, Italy (Feb. 12, 2016) -- Veteran Vicentine musician and recording artist Roberto Dalla Vecchia performed a variety of guitar pieces, including original compositions and songs, as part of the 10th Acoustic Jam concert Jan. 29 and 30 at the Soldiers' Theatre on Caserma Ederle.

"I decided to propose an annual concert at the theater where I would invite other musicians, including guitar players among the many acoustic guitar players that I have the opportunity to know here in Italy," said Dalla Vecchia.

"The reason for inviting a special guest was just for the simple pleasure of sharing music together with a colleague musician. For this 10th edition, I invited more musicians than usual to celebrate this great achievement together," he said.

Two of the musicians, Aaron Talley (vocals) and Michelle Willis (flute), have been performing together for quite a while at Soldiers' Theatre events. Other special guests included Chiara Morandini, on vocals and guitar, and Chiara Sbicego, one of his former guitar students.

During the concert, musicians performed solo pieces, duets and as a group, also joined by bassist Barry Robinson, Soldiers' Theatre sound and system technician.

"When I can, I like to extend a jam session to other instrumental performers, even if just for one piece," Dalla Vecchia continued.

Following a tradition started two years ago, acoustic genre fans sat near the performers at small tables set up in the theater lobby.

"I felt honored to play with Roberto, who is such an inspiring and brilliant artist," said Morandini, a former student of Dalla Vecchia.

"After a few years, it was very pleasant to meet again as if years had not passed," she added.

According to Morandini, on stage Dalla Vecchia showcases his musical talent and is able to keep a friendly and informal environment at the same time.

"Roberto's arrangement with one of my compositions, ''Tracks', performed for the first time in public, was brilliant," Morandini said.

"The two-night event performing in front of a very involved audience has been a memorable experience; both Americans and Italians shared their interest and passion for music," she said.

Looking forward to experiencing this kind of event again, Dalla Vecchia said, "I really enjoy performing at Soldiers' Theatre.

"Acoustic Jam is always a chance to play again with these musicians and friends of mine who share the core of music itself, which is specifically the pleasure of sharing music together."
