LIVORNO -- The Livorno Health Clinic hosted a Meet and Greet Social Jan. 22 with local community health care providers.

Darby Military Community was invited to meet with the main Italian care providers of the Pisa Hospital and San Rossore Clinic in light of the future closure of the clinic on post.

"The event was created to allow all Camp Darby personnel to meet new providers and to ask them questions in a friendly environment, so that if and when they need medical support, they will be familiar with some of the physicians," said Maj. Charles Broomell, Livorno Clinic Commander.

Effective Feb. 1, the Camp Darby clinic will mission will be reduced and will only provide liaison services.

"It is important that our customers don't feel abandoned. There will be three liaisons officers at the clinic, and we will be more than glad to provide our service as interpreters and liaison with the Italian doctors," said Ilaria Guerrini.

The clinic will also sponsor a Health Fair on Monday, Feb. 1, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a question-and-answer session and informational booths will be available to answer any inquiries of community members.
