BONN, Germany -- As part of U.S. Army Europe's Public Diplomacy Outreach program, German Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal, U.S. Army Europe chief of staff, addressed the Clausewitz Gesellschaft, at the Hardthöhe visitors' center of the German Ministry of Defense, here, Jan. 11.

Laubenthal and Col. Norman Fuss, U.S. Army Europe's security cooperation division chief, provided the Strong Europe briefing to an audience of more than 50 retired German generals and staff officers.

A question and answer session was moderated by retired Lt. Gen. Jürgen Ruwe, former German Vice Chief of the Army.

At the end of the visit, Laubenthal stated that the headquarters in Wiesbaden has an 'open door' policy in an effort to increase transparency of the organization.

Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, U.S. Army Europe commanding general, is actively involved in outreach programs aimed at providing guests from schools, universities, media and other non-governmental organizations with information about U.S. Army Europe.
