The 2015 Federal Benefits Open season starts 9 November and the Corpus Christi Army Depot's (CCAD) Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC) isn't missing a beat.

The 2015 Federal Employees Health Benefits (FEHB) Fair is scheduled to run November 4-5 in the CCAD Headquarters Building 8, Subway Hallway, to kick off Open Season, which starts the following Monday. The event will run on Wednesday, November 4 from 1100-1700, and Thursday, November 5 from 0500-1200 to capture employees during breaks and coming in and out of their shifts.

Every year CPAC preps the thousands of federal civilian employees at the Army depot for the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) annual Federal Benefits Open Season, the one time each year all federal employees and other eligibles can change their healthcare, dental, life and other insurance, savings and benefits programs.

The FEHB Fair pools representatives from some of the biggest healthcare providers in the business to go over policy changes to existing customers or to give information to someone considering switching policies, or to someone adding a long-term healthcare policy to support their aging parents.

CCAD employees will learn the latest about the Flexible Spending Account Program (FSAFEDS), Federal Employees Dental and Vision Insurance Program (FEDVIP) and the FEHB Program before season begins.

New for 2015 is a reduced minimum election of $100 and a maximum carryover (rollover) of $500 in FSAFEDS. See "The 2015 Guide to Federal Benefits for Civilian Employees" page 17 for details in the links.

Another new option for employees is Self Plus One enrollment. Established in the Bipartisan Budget Act of 2013, Self Plus One coverage begins January 2016. The first opportunity to enroll in Self Plus One will be during this year's Open Season.

Open season runs from November 9, 2015 to December 14, 2015. Each year, Open Season runs from the Monday of the second full workweek in November through the Monday of the second full workweek in December. The event is open to federal employees and OPM-approved federal health providers.
