WIESBADEN, Germany -- Applications are currently being accepted for German college students and recent graduates interested in interning with U.S. Army Europe's headquarters in Wiesbaden, Germany.

German Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal, chief of staff, USAREUR, hosted an open house for potential interns interested in the program at the Clay Kaserne Community Center, here, Oct. 21

Current students and recent graduates, along with their German school representatives, attended the open house to help celebrate new opportunities and the continued partnership between the U.S. and German population.

A panel of directorate leaders were present to answer questions about the program, and explain what it would take for interns to be accepted into the program.

According to Army Europe's Personnel Division, or G1, the internship program will open the door to host nation students to work side by side with Army Europe's workforce, and get a first-hand idea of how U.S. forces operate, a better understanding of Army Europe's goals and objectives in support of its mission, as well as further development of their English language skills.

Students accepted in the program will work side by side with Army Europe subject matter experts in a variety of fields.

Applications are currently being accepted, and are due by Nov. 30. Interns accepted into the program are scheduled to begin working in mid-2016.
