NATO Allies Meet at European Best Squad Competition

GRAFENWÖHR, Germany (Oct. 16, 2015) -- U.S. Army Europe is hosting the European Best Squad Competition at Grafenwoehr Training Area. The opening ceremony is scheduled for October 18, 2015, the competition will run from October 19 -- October 21, 2015, and the award ceremony for the winners will be on October 22, 2015.

This is the first U.S. Army Europe- hosted competition in more than 10 years. It will feature 18, nine-member squads from 14 NATO allies including; Albania, Bulgaria, France, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, United Kingdom, and the United States.

Participants in the European Best Squad Competition will battle through mental and physical obstacles and tasks to their combat skills in events including; reaction and maintenance drills, medical evacuation, land orientation, and tactical shooting.
