REDSTONE ARSENAL, Ala. (Oct. 2, 2015) -- The Combined Federal Campaign is the only authorized solicitation of Federal employees in their workplaces on behalf of approved charitable organizations.

Last year, U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center workforce, contributed almost $170,000 to the most inclusive workplace giving campaign in the world. AMRDEC is one of six U.S. Army Research, Development, and Engineering Command centers that support CFC.

In more than 50 years, the CFC has raised more than $7 billion dollars for nonprofit local, national and international charities. The services and programs provided by CFC include hospice care for dying parents, shelter for victims of domestic violence and assistance for veterans.

"The CFC is the only authorized solicitation of Federal employees in their workplaces on behalf of approved charitable organizations," said Cynthia Robinson, Tennessee Valley CFC Director. "This year, servicemen and other federal employees have more than 22,000 national, international and local charitable organizations to choose from."

CFC campaigns are delineated geographically along county lines. The Tennessee Valley Combined Federal Campaign covers Cullman, Lawrence, Limestone, Madison, Marshall and Morgan counties in the north Alabama area. Any federal employee working in these counties may participate in the campaign.

"CFC is a voluntary program and we have a great group of people here at AMRDEC that assist me daily with the campaign," said Patricia Jackson, AMRDEC 2015 CFC Chairperson. "This is a employee-focused, cost-efficient opportunity designed to improve the quality of life for all federal employees."

In 2014, AMRDEC was one of the top five federal organizations in the Tennessee Valley that exceeded CFC's annual goal of $2.2 million by 5 percent.

"Federal employees can donate electronically to CFC through the myPay module, search for specific charities and print their pledge form for recordkeeping," said Jackson.

This year's campaign kickoff began Sept. 22, 2015 and ends on Dec. 15, 2015. To donate or to learn more about the CFC charities, visit the Tennessee Valley CFC site.
