KRAKOW, Poland -- U.S. Army Europe's Deputy Commanding General, Maj. Gen. William Gayler visited the Polish Land Operations Center and the Polish 6th Airborne Brigade, here, Sept. 23.

After briefings and conversations with the commanders of the LOC, Polish Maj. Gen. Cezary Podlasiniski, and the 6th Airborne Brigade, Polish Brig. Gen. Adam Joks, Gayler had the chance to see the unit's infrastructure and equipment and also to speak to soldiers during a static display.

The Polish LOC HQs will take over the responsibilities as EU Operational HQ during a standby phase in January 2016 to June 2016 for the first time ever.

The 6th POL Airborne Brigade will host the Allied Airborne Brigade Commanders Conference in Krakow in June 2016.
