GRAFENWOEHR, Germany -- The new commander for the Joint Multinational Simulation Center was promoted Sep. 3, 2015, here.

William Glaser was promoted to the rank of Colonel by Brig. Gen. Christopher G. Cavoli, the commander of the 7th Army Joint Multinational Training Command, at the historic Forsthaus, located in Grafenwoehr, Germany.

"The simulations center is the most complicated simulations job in the Army and it is also the most remarkable part of our training command," said Brig. Gen. Christopher G. Cavoli, the commanding general of the 7th Army Joint Multinational Training Command. "The people there make magic happen every day and we are lucky to have Will directing the simulations center."

JMSC, located in Camp Aachen, Grafenwoehr Training Area, facilitates training from Company to 3-star commander level by integrating live, virtual and constructive training environments.

"JMSC is a critical technical enabler to the Army Europe "Strong Europe" Exercise Program. This program, along with Operation Atlantic Resolve, assures our allies, deters our enemies, and prepares the Alliance to win in a complex world," said Glaser.

Glaser explained that while he is the director of the simulation center he wants to transform the Joint Multinational Simulation Center in to a full service modernized distributed training capability, leveraging simulation, network, and mission command technologies working with enduring multinational relationships to create an integrated training environment across Europe that drives staff planning, leader decision making, and multinational interoperability.

In September, Glaser will serve as the US Exercise Director to Immediate Response 2015 in

Croatia and Slovenia.

Immediate Response 15 is an Army Europe-led, multilateral, regional theater security cooperation exercise with Slovenian Armed Forces, Croatian Armed Forces and additional allied and partner nations. Exercise Immediate Response 15 consists of a division level distributed computer assisted and command post exercise, company level Situational Training Exercise and a battalion level field training exercise.
