FORT LEONARD WOOD, Mo. (August 27, 2015) -- The annual Fort Leonard Wood Community Expo is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 11 at Nutter Field House.

Army Community Service, (Army Volunteer Corps and the Information and Referral program) will be hosting the event. It is designed to provide a "one-stop" opportunity for individuals to learn about the programs in the area, meet others who are active participants in the community and for programs and organizations to promote themselves.

"The community expo is also an excellent way to recruit volunteers and network. Potential volunteers are able to gather updated information, see a variety of opportunities, see what organizations are accepting volunteers, who to volunteer with, and how to register with the organizations," said Rhonda Hutsell, Army Volunteer Corps coordinator.

Currently, there are 50 vendors registered to attend and set up booths and showcase their programs. The deadline to register for a booth is Monday

"Last year there were 500 individuals who attended the expo and three individuals were placed in paid positions," Hutsell said. "The expo offers a wide variety of resources that you may have never realized or recognized that are accessible to you. This is your opportunity to come out and see what is in our local community and surrounding area," she said.
