WIESBADEN, Germany -- Students from the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung paid a visit to Army Europe's headquarters, here, Aug. 11.

The visit, which was the second visit from the student foundation included a history brief of Army Europe, a windshield-tour of Clay Kaserne, and a static display of a UH60 Blackhawk helicopter on the airfield.

The students also had the opportunity to meet German Brig. Gen. Markus Laubenthal, Army Europe's chief of staff. He provided the students with a Strong Europe command brief and answered questions relating to political and military issues affecting Europe.

The seminar visits to Army Europe are aimed at increasing transparency and to provide the opportunity for the command team to engage with youth who have an interest in political-military and security related studies.

The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung is a German political party foundation associated with (but independent of) the center-right Christian Democratic Union and is a member of the Center for European Studies, the official think tank of the European People's Party.

Students from all over Germany vie for a slot to participate in this prestigious summer seminar program which is aimed at enhancing their English skills and knowledge of politico-military and security affairs.

USAREUR is actively engaged in public diplomacy outreach with various interest groups in order to increase transparency of USAREUR's mission, goals and objectives to ensuring peace and stability.
