Independence, MO.-- The Lake City Army Ammunition Plant (LCAAP) conducted its annual full-participation Antiterrorism Exercise on July 31, 2015. This exercise, which was designed to validate the installation's Antiterrorism Plan, was conducted in conjunction with the installation's Fire Department and Security Force, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (Kansas City Office), the City of Independence Fire and Police Departments, AMR Ambulance Service, Life Flight Eagle Air Ambulance, the Jackson County Emergency Management Office and the City of Blue Springs Police Department. College students from the University of Central Missouri participated in the exercise as role players and victims for the mass-casualty portion of the exercise.

This year's exercise incorporated one of LCAAP's production facilities into the overall exercise scenario. This provided a unique training opportunity for all of the exercise participants and is expected to enhance inter-agency cooperation and coordination in the future.

This exercise is an opportunity for us to be actively involved and engaged with our community partners. The staff at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant provides a safe, fun, and educational environment for us to hone our skills and develop deeper relationships with Lake City and our

fellow first responders." said David Roll, a paramedic with AMR Ambulance Service.

Lake City Army Ammunition Plant conducts contract oversight and provides quality small-caliber munitions to the Warfighter and operates the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) test center. It is a subordinate command of the Joint Munitions Command.

From its headquarters at Rock Island Arsenal, JMC operates a nationwide network of conventional ammunition manufacturing plants and storage depots, and provides on-site ammunition experts to U.S. combat units wherever they are stationed or deployed. JMC's customers are U.S. forces of all military services, other U.S. government agencies and allied nations.
