GRAFENWOEHR, Germany (July 28, 2015) -- More than 4,500 participants from eight nations will participate in Exercise Allied Spirit II at the Army's Hohenfels Training Area in southeastern Germany, Aug. 4-24, 2015.

Participating countries include Canada, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Hungary, Italy, Serbia, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Allied Spirit II is unique in its ability to provide a hands-on laboratory for NATO interoperability training, as well as pre-deployment certification for two NATO Allies during the exercise.

In this exercise, the 7th Czech Brigade will command the brigade headquarters for the first time in a NATO combined exercise. Additionally, the 43rd Georgian Light Infantry Battalion will use this exercise as a mission rehearsal exercise in preparation for deployment to the Afghanistan Theater of Operations to conduct base defense operations in support of NATO International Security Assistance Force.

The exercise will consist of a Combat Training Center rotation, as well as a night-time joint and partnered parachute drop into the Hohenfels training area.

Media interested in covering the exercise should contact the 7th Army Joint Multinational Training Command Public Affairs Office at jmtcpao@gmail.com.
