Learning to navigate the military health care system can sometimes be a daunting task. But the Fort Drum U.S. Army Medical Department Activity wants to ensure beneficiaries here have all essential information they need.

Today, many people engage in multiple forms of social media to include Facebook. If you are one of the millions scrolling through your news feed throughout the day, be sure to "follow" the Fort Drum MEDDAC.

On the Fort Drum MEDDAC's Facebook page, you will find current events, happenings and closures along with general health information intended to help followers make healthy choices.

The MEDDAC Facebook page also shares information on community events and activities within the Fort Drum community. Here, this information is provided right at the user's fingertips so subscribers don't have to search for it.

If you are looking for a one-stop shop for information regarding the Fort Drum MEDDAC, then visit www.drum.amedd.army.mil. Here you will find detailed information about each department under the MEDDAC as well as contact information and hours of operation.

In addition, with the new design of the website, there is an announcements section where you can find information on closures and other important notices. An events section provides current MEDDAC information about upcoming open houses and tours, as well as Saturday appointment schedules.

Also on the website you can find a downloadable copy of the new MEDDAC Patient Handbook. The Patient Handbook has much of the same information as the website; however, you can print it off and keep a copy or it, or you can save it to your desktop for easy reference.

All products are intertwined to keep TRICARE beneficiaries up-to-date with valuable information needed to manage and improve their health.

Another MEDDAC initiative available to all TRICARE-eligible beneficiaries is the Guthrie Ambulatory Health Care Clinic monthly open house and tour.

If you are looking for additional information about the MEDDAC, would like to talk to staff one-on-one, or just learn about the enhancements the MEDDAC is making to improve the quality of health for Fort Drum Soldiers and their Families, the Guthrie Clinic open house and tour is for you.

This event is scheduled for the last Friday of each month, with the next one being July 31. The open house runs from 2 to 4 p.m., and you don't have to stay the whole time. Drop by when you are free.
