GARMISCH, Germany -- Representatives with U.S. European Command, U.S. Army Europe and multiple NATO headquarters gathered for the Senior Army Leaders' Meeting 2015, a forum hosted by United States Army NATO Brigade and chaired by Maj. Gen. William Gayler, the U.S. Army Europe deputy commanding general here July 14-16. The forum met to allow senior national representatives and senior army officers assigned to NATO to receive strategic guidance and create shared situational understanding of current and future topics and challenges facing service members working in NATO assignments.

"We've accomplished what we set out to here," said Gayler, "this has been a great discussion and we've shared and balanced out the wealth of knowledge present here."

In addition to discussions on a range of topics important to NATO servicemembers, leaders received guidance from Air Force Gen. Phillip Breedlove, NATO's senior military officer and commander of United States European Command, through a video message to attendees.

"This is a critical time for NATO," Breedlove told participants, "the work you do for NATO and in support of our NATO assigned Soldiers and Families is vitally important."

Paricipants of the forum included Lt. Gen. John Nicholson, the NATO Allied Land Command commander; Air Force Maj. Gen. Scott Smith, the NATO Joint Forces Command Brunssum deputy chief of staff for operations; Mr. Michael Formica, the Installation Management Command Europe director, as well as representatives from U.S. European Command, U.S. Army Europe organizations, and 15 NATO headquarters.
