CAMP HENRY, Korea - The 403rd Army Field Support Brigade, headquartered in Daegu, Korea, marked an important milestone in the unit's history as they welcomed a new leader. Command Sgt. Maj. Kendricks Gamble assumed responsibility of the brigade at a ceremony, here, June 18.

The 403rd AFSB commands two Army Field Support Battalions and six Logistics Readiness Centers dispersed across the Korean peninsula, mainland Japan and Okinawa.

Col. Jordan Chroman, 403rd AFSB commander, passed the unit colors to Gamble, signifying his trust and confidence in ensuring the Powerhouse Brigade continues their mission of "Maintaining Warriors."

During his remarks, Gamble thanked those who helped him reach this point in his career and expressed his gratitude toward the brigade.

"What you have shown me is indicative of the world-class organization that I'll be joining," he said. "It's one that gets the business done by making things happen day in and day out. I am proud to serve with you all; you have my upmost respect and I aim to earn yours."

Chroman praised the non-commissioned officer corps and welcomed the new command sergeant major.

"At the heart of this ceremony is the professionalism, honor and integrity of the NCO Corps -- embodied in the NCO Creed," he said. "I firmly believe that this ethos -- focused on being a warrior and leader -- is what sets our NCOs apart from all others. Today, we recognize the contributions of the NCO Corps by welcoming Command Sgt. Maj. Kendricks J. Gamble to the 403rd Army Field Support Brigade and to Korea."

"Command Sgt. Maj. Gamble is a proven, battle-hardened, talented and well-trained leader who lives the Army's Values," Chroman continued. "He has excelled in the most challenging of assignments -- coming to us fresh from the Joint Multinational Readiness Center in Germany."

Gamble, a Monticello, Florida native, joined the Army in 1987 and completed Basic Combat Training and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Benning, Georgia. He holds a bachelor of science degree in electronics management from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and is pursuing a master's of business administration from Columbia Southern University.
