FORT SILL, Okla. (May 28, 2015) -- Elements of the 45th Infantry Brigade Combat Team (IBCT), the 45th Field Artillery Brigade and the 90th Troop Command will arrive at Fort Sill this summer to conduct annual training.

The units will come in waves with the brunt of the force here in the first weeks of June, said Lt. Col. Lindy White, deputy state public affairs officer.

A large contingency of the Oklahoma National Guard are taking part in readiness training.

"One battalion has already done their training but other units will get their training, too," she said.

Some Soldiers with the 45th IBCT have already arrived and are working through their warfighter exercises, White said.

Included in the summer training is the involvement of aviation assets which will train Soldiers on various aviation mission sets including sling-load, air resupply and air insertions training, said White. The training is designed to help the Soldier with missions they will have to perform while deployed.
