WASHINGTON (May 27, 2015) -- Tunisian Minister of Defense Farhat Horchani laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, Arlington National Cemetery to honor American heroes.

Horchani was escorted during the Armed Forces Full Honor Wreath Laying Ceremony by Maj. Gen. Jeffrey S. Buchanan, Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and U.S. Army Military District of Washington commanding general.

During Horchani's visit, he met with U.S. Deputy Defense Secretary Bob Work, to discuss issues of mutual importance.

According to the State Department, Tunisia is a strong partner of the United States and the U.S. Government is proud to support Tunisia in its transition to democracy. In this effort, one of the United States' priorities is to help Tunisia provide a secure environment conducive to the development of democratic institutions and practices, and to economic growth.
