BREMERHAVEN, Germany -- Tennessee and Alabama National Guard construction equipment arrived at the port here, May 20, 2015.

The equipment was then off-loaded, May 22, and port operations continue as the equipment is prepared for both line-haul and rail movement to its final destinations in Bulgaria and Romania.

Engineer elements from the Tennessee and Alabama Army National Guard will execute Exercise Resolute Castle 2015 from June 13-Sept. 5, at Novo Selo Training Area in Bulgaria, and at Land Forces Combat Training Center in Cincu, Romania, in support of the European Reassurance Initiative.

The purpose of the exercise is to improve interoperability, demonstrate commitment and build assurance between participating nations.

Engineers will execute numerous horizontal and vertical troop construction projects at both training areas in order to improve multi-national training capabilities at the individual and collective level.

Tennessee's Army National Guard's 194th Engineer Brigade will provide the mission command element for the duration of the exercise.

The 230th Engineer Battalion, also from Tennessee, will execute troop construction in Bulgaria, and Alabama's Army National Guard's 877th Engineer Battalion will execute troop construction in Romania.
