USAG Bavaria Teammates,

Memorial Day gives us an opportunity to join together in honoring U.S. service members who fought and died while defending our freedom.

This year, I encourage everyone to remember the Soldiers who fell protecting our Nation and to remember the sacrifices of their families.

Memorial Day weekend also marks the start of the summer recreation and travel season. Statistically, it is the deadliest time of year for off-duty activities. Therefore, I ask that you carefully consider the risks involved with all of your summer plans. Moreover, leaders at every level must be actively involved in accident mitigation. Engaged leadership, all the time and in all things, ensures everyone's safety and saves lives.

Please support your fellow community members by looking out for each other and remaining vigilant against reckless behavior. Take ownership in your safety and the well-being of others who work, play and live at U.S. Army Garrison Bavaria.

I encourage each of you to identify and assess risks and then implement appropriate measures. Even small changes in awareness and attitude can make the difference between life and death.

Please use the links below to assist you in preparing your Solders, civilian employees, family members and friends for the long Memorial Day weekend and the Bavarian summer.
