REMAGEN, Germany -- Twenty nine tanks and four Bradleys made their way by barge down the Rhine River this week as the newest additions to the European Activity Set.
"This equipment just arrived from the U.S. and will be permanently stored in Europe," said Lt. Gen. Ben Hodges, U.S. Army Europe commanding general. "This is a perfect example of the land power Army Europe provides to EUCOM."
Hodges was leading a staff ride that happened to be at an overlook on the Rhine River, Germany, right as the barge passed by.
"What an awesome experience to see this first hand," said Maj. Gen. John O'Connor, 21st Theater Sustainment Command commanding general. "This equipment demonstrates exactly what the U.S. Army is capable of - providing the right capabilities, to the right place, at the right time."
According to Hodges, the equipment will be used by rotational forces in exercises from the Baltic to Black seas.
