FORT LEE, Va. (April 16, 2015) -- Occupational Health Nursing Week will be celebrated at Kenner Army Health Clinic and the Occupational Health Clinic next week. It will be recognized Wednesday at the Ordnance School and April 23 at KAHC.

Most people understand the function of a nurse in a clinical setting but not everyone is aware of the specific functions of occupational health nursing.

It was originally known as "industrial nursing;" evolving during the Industrial Revolution. Today, the practice of occupational health is focused on promotion, restoration of health, prevention of illness and injury, and protection from work related hazards.
