FALLS CHURCH, VA. - A group of select majors from across Army Medicine participated in the AMEDD Iron Majors Award - Professional and Leader Development Week held March 23-27 at the Defense Health Headquarters (DHHQ) in Falls Church, VA.

The Iron Majors Award recognizes some of the best and brightest AMEDD majors for their promotion potential and continued Army service. The selected officers attended the one-week event in the National Capital Region and participated in a variety of interagency activities.

Army Lt. Col. Dave Bauder, program manager, said, "It was inspirational to be among such a fine group of outstanding young officers. These young men and women are the future leaders of Army Medicine and the health of our Army, and will be the ones ensuring we make the transformation from a healthcare system to a System for Health in 2020."

During the weeklong event, the officers were exposed to presentations, dialogue, discussions, and tours designed to help build those personal attributes necessary to address potential future issues in areas of Army Medicine, DoD, and interagency relationships in 2020 and beyond.
