ANSBACH, Germany (March 26, 2015) - Over the past several weeks, U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach service providers have worked to ensure the garrison's newest tenants - 4th Assault Helicopter Battalion, 3rd Aviation Regiment, 3rd Combat Aviation Brigade - receive an appropriate hometown reception.

Upon their arrival to Storck Barracks, approximately 350 Soldiers were processed into the garrison. Integrating new Soldiers into the garrison normally takes 10 days, but due to the unit's mission requirements in support of Operation Atlantic Resolve, the "Brawlers" assimilated into the community in a fraction of that time.

During a one-day process, groups of Soldiers received briefings about life in the garrison, and they participated in a round-robin type in-processing. During the round-robin, Soldiers were able to register in the Installation Access Control System and get their ration cards and driver's licenses. They also received important information from service providers including the American Red Cross, banking services, Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation and more.

USAG Ansbach streamlined the unit's in-processing to ensure that Soldiers assigned to 4-3 Assault Helicopter Battalion are able to contribute to a strong Europe and to reassure U.S. Army Europe's allies of the U.S.'s commitment to the collective security of NATO.

The Soldiers and some 25 Black Hawk helicopters will be in U.S. Army Europe on a rotational basis and are part of the U.S. Army's commitment to the European theater to ensure Army Europe has the right capability to meet training and operational requirements. The rotation for these Soldiers is expected to last about nine months.
