Military Medical Conference Connects Industry Partners and Research Representatives

The National Defense Industrial Association and the U.S. Army Medical Research and Materiel Command will co-host the "Medical Research, Development and Acquisition in Support of the Warfighter" conference in Hyattsville, Maryland, at the College Park Marriott Hotel & Conference Center March 23-25.

This is the first year the NDIA and the USAMRMC will co-host this 3-day event where attendees will hear from military leadership on mission priorities and gap areas to better understand potential partnership opportunities.

Key conference topics will include:

Military infectious diseases

Combat casualty care

Clinical and rehabilitative medicine

Occupational/environmental health and performance, and brain health

On the opening day of the conference, USAMRMC and Fort Detrick Commander Maj. Gen. Brian C. Lein will provide industry attendees with an organizational overview. Dr. John Frazier Glenn, USAMRMC's principal assistant for research and technology, and Dr. Kenneth A. Bertram, USAMRMC's principal assistant for acquisition, will also present overviews on science and technology and advanced development, respectively.

Former Army Surgeon General retired Lt. Gen. Eric Schoomaker, who is currently chair of the centers and programs at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, will provide a keynote address March 25.
