The following is a description of the nine directorates within the Headquarters, Department of the Army, G-4.
G-43, Operations and Logistics Readiness Directorate
To synchronize Department of the Army sustainment planning efforts, policies and programs in support of Army worldwide logistics current operations, contingency operations, aviation logistics, and readiness reporting and analysis.
G-44(D), Force Projection and Distribution Directorate
Develop sound policies and processes for Army deployment, redeployment, and distribution by influencing lift providers and policymakers in the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Staff, and U.S. Transportation Command.
G-45/7, Strategy and Integration Directorate
To provide logistics strategy and manage its implementation, shape logistics strategic planning, and CSS force management activities to enable transformation and balancing the Army. Direct the integration of Army logistics capabilities, concepts, and doctrine across the Joint Staff, Services, Combatant Commands and Multinational Partners to optimize logistics resource allocation; manage energy to provide the greatest operational benefit and assure access to sufficient energy supplies. In support of this effort and influence the strategic direction of Army logistics by delivering a coherent, integrated, and synchronized Army logistics message that is contained in national, DoD, and Joint strategic guidance.
G-44(M), Maintenance Directorate
To enhance logistics readiness by providing integrated maintenance policy and programs to maintain a ready Army.
G-44(S), Supply Directorate
Enhance Unit and Soldier Readiness and Army Sustainment operations through integrated supply and services policies and programs.
G-46, Logistics Information Management Directorate
To provide the DCS, G-4 oversight for policy, governance, investment strategy and technical integration of logistics automated information management systems.
G-48, Resource Management Directorate
Perform and facilitate Sustainment Program Evaluation Group (PEG) responsibilities for the PPBE process. Perform budget execution and analysis, reprogramming and management control actions for the G4 family of funds. Provide contract management for Army G-4.
G4, Logistics Innovation Agency
Assess and integrate innovative logistics solutions, policies, processes, and programs across the Army Logistics enterprise.
G-4, Logistics Initiatives Group
Provide dedicated and responsible staff support to develop the foundation of and communicate the DCS, G-4 strategic vision to influence internal and external audiences in support of logistics based initiatives, actions, and programs.
