FORT EUSTIS, Va. -- Senior leaders will discuss the challenges the Army faces and the way ahead for the future force during the upcoming 2015 Global Force Symposium and Exposition in Huntsville, Ala., March 31 to April 2.

The U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, headquartered at Joint-Base Langley Eustis in Virginia, is the Army lead for the 2015 symposium. The theme for this year's event highlights the Army Operating Concept, 'Win in a Complex World.' TRADOC released the AOC last year to describe how future Army forces will prevent conflict, shape security environments and win wars while operating as part of a joint force and working with multiple partners.

The Global Force Symposium, hosted by the Association of the United States Army, provides the Army with a venue to dialogue with industry about innovative ideas and capabilities for the future.

During a recent forum, Lt. Gen. H.R. McMaster, the director of the Army Capabilities Integration Center told a group of industry leaders, "What we see in the Army Operating Concept is what gives American Army forces their power. It is a combination of skilled, well-trained Soldiers and teams with the best technology."

Those who are unable to attend this year's event are invited to watch, and even ask questions during the panels and presentations, by visiting the event's livestreaming site, www.tradoc.army.mil/watch.

Live streaming will begin March 31 at 9 a.m. EST with Gen. David Perkins, commanding general of U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command, whose presentation will discuss what the Army must do to "Win in a Complex World." Other notable presentations will be made by the Army Chief of Staff Gen. Ray Odierno and Gen. Dennis Via, commanding general of the Army Material Command, on April 1.

"The Global Force Symposium is an important platform for the Army to communicate its needs for current and future operational environments, while also providing a unique professional development opportunity in which Army personnel can participate both in person and virtually," said Dave Andrews, TRADOC's lead for planning the Army's participation in the symposium.

These open professional development forums will discuss topics such as: Army warfighting challenges; increasing the rate of innovation; Force 2025 and Beyond Maneuvers, Science and technology driving innovation; building leaders who thrive in chaos; systems engineering and acquisition for the cyber challenge; and sustaining Army readiness.

In addition to listening to the latest information, directly from Army leaders, those who are tuned in to the livestream will also have a chance to ask questions through the interactive webcast during the discussions.

"This forum provides a great opportunity for Army professionals to engage directly with leaders and subject matters experts discussing topics that are critical to the future of our Army," said Andrews.
