FORT RILEY, Kan. -- The U.S. Department of State recognized four Logistics Readiness Center-Riley employees for their outstanding service during a ceremony at garrison headquarters, here, March 2.
The State Department, Passport Services, Office of Acceptance Facility Oversight, recognized LRC-Riley passport section members Laura Morris, traffic management specialist; Rachel Johnson, traffic management specialist; Amy Holmes, transportation assistant; and Greg Paine, supervisory traffic management specialist, for operating one of the department's best passport sections.
"We are very proud of our team's customer service focus, dedication and attention to detail," said Larry Githerman, director, LRC-Riley. "Our team processed to standard, and forwarded and tracked just under 5,500 passport requests to the Department of State for Soldiers deploying to AFRICOM and [for] family travel during FY14."
Garrison Command Sgt. Maj. Jason Schmidt presented the four with commander's coins on behalf of Col. Andrew Cole Jr., garrison commander. The passport section was also congratulated by Tim Livsey, deputy garrison commander.
