Fort Leonard Wood is hosting the Assistant Director of the Office of Servicemember Affairs for the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau next week.

Hollister Petraeus, better known as Holly Petraeus, is set to attend the Army Emergency Relief breakfast March 12 and host two town hall style sessions later in the day.

"At the breakfast she will be speaking about the benefits and advantages of the AER program," said Chuck Matthews, Army Community Service AER program officer. "In the town hall events, she will be speaking about military- specific financial issues."

The AER Breakfast has been going strong for three years as the annual kick-off event for the fundraising campaign.

The breakfast event is scheduled to start at 8 a.m. in Pershing Community Center. The cost is $10.

The town hall meetings are scheduled for 10:30 to 11:40 a.m. and 1 to 2:10 p.m. in Pershing Community Center. The morning meeting is for staff E7 and above. The afternoon meeting is for service members E1 through E6.

"She is very dedicated to assisting the military with financial matters," said Jerry Patton, ACS Financial Readiness Program manager. "She is a brilliant speaker. I am looking forward to next week."

"Attendees are going to learn a lot from her," he added.

Matthews agreed.

"We are very lucky to have Holly Petraeus, a well-known national speaker, coming to Fort Leonard Wood," Matthews said. "She has a lot of experience to share with us."

Petraeus' office partners with the Pentagon to see that military Families receive strong financial education; to monitor complaints from military Families and responses to those complaints by the CFPB and other agencies; and to see that federal and state agencies coordinate their activities to improve consumer protection measures for military Families.

Prior to joining the CFPB, Petraeus spent six years as the Director of the Better Business Bureau Military Line.

A military spouse of 37 years and a former Department of the Army civilian employee, Petraeus also has experience as a volunteer leader in military Family programs.
