ROCK ISLAND ARSENAL, Ill. -- Senior Army logisticians from across the globe gathered for a second day, here, Feb. 11, to participate in a discussion-driven session about Materiel Management.

"So, we've had the discussion about sustainment doctrine and how it's (Materiel Management) supposed to be," said Lt. Col. Andrew J. Aiello III, chief, Distribution Management Center operations. "We've also talked about how things actually operate and how it may be in the future."

Today's discussion focused on the roles and responsibilities of Theater Sustainment Commands, Expeditionary Sustainment Commands, Army Field Support Brigades and Sustainment Brigades.

Attending were representatives from Department of the Army, G4 (Logistics); HQDA, G8 (Resource Management); Combined Arms Support Command; U.S. Army Forces Command; U.S. Army Europe; U.S. Army Pacific; Surface Deployment and Distribution Command; U.S. Army Transportation Command; 8th TSC; 21st TSC; 593rd ESC; 3rd ESC; U.S. Army Materiel Command, G4 and G8; U.S. Army Sustainment Command; Joint Munitions Command; U.S. Army Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command and U.S. Army Special Operations Command.

This portion of the summit brought a continuation of panel discussions and smaller group discussions intended to identify problems, concerns and goals for Army logistics.
