PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. (Jan. 29, 2015) -- Branch Chief Mark McFadden, of the Armament Technology Facility receives the Order of St. Maurice Civis Award Jan. 29 for making significant contributions to the infantry Soldier over the course of his professional career.

McFadden served as a test director at Fort Dix, New Jersey, for small and medium caliber weapons, ammunition and ancillary which resulted in the U.S. Army fielding numerous weapons to the soldier. McFadden was also involved in the testing of standard North Atlantic Treaty Organization rounds such as the 5.56 mm, 7.62 mm, 9 mm, 12.7 mm and 25 mm.

McFadden is credited with numerous contributions over his career which led to weapon and ammunition enhancements utilizing the range of experimental services required to provide our Soldiers with leading edge capabilities. McFadden has served and enabled improved lethality for infantry Soldiers for 29 years.

The Order of St. Maurice Award recognizes individuals who have contributed significantly to the Infantry in ways that are stand out in the eyes of the recipient's seniors, subordinates and peers. These individuals must also demonstrate the highest standards of integrity and moral character, an outstanding degree of professional competence, and serve the United States Army Infantry or the Infantry community with distinction.
