WASHINGTON (Jan. 12, 2014) -- Leaders from the Washington Nationals baseball team received a briefing describing the Joint Force Headquarters National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington's mission and capabilities that could be provided in support of civil authorities in the National Capital Region if a crisis arose.

The information was presented to Frank Gambino, Nationals ballpark operations' vice president, and Stewart Branam, Nationals security director by JFHQ-NCR/MDW Deputy Commander Egon Hawrylak inside the Joint Operation Center at Fort Lesley J. McNair. The briefing was followed by a short tour of the JFHQ-NCR/MDW Mobile Command Post.

JFHQ-NCR/MDW plans, partners, maintains situational awareness, and as directed, employs forces as a Joint Task Force conducting homeland defense and civil support operations to defend and secure the National Capital Region.
