After being closed for more than six months for renovations, the Pershing Community Center is scheduled to reopen Tuesday. The center is reopening following the installation of a new HVAC system and some "touch-ups" to the facility.

The center's BlackJack Bar and Grill will be offering a lunch buffet from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesdays through Fridays.

"FMWR is excited to have the Pershing Community Center reopening and ready to serve our patrons," said Megan O'Donoghue, FMWR marketing coordinator.

With new menu items, the buffet will offer patrons a quick lunch. The all-you-can-eat lunch buffet is $12 for the full buffet, $8.50 for soup and salad, and both meals include a drink and dessert.

The menu is available online at www.fortleonardwoodmwr.com.

The Pershing Community Center will resume full regular operations on Jan. 23. FMWR staff will be celebrating the opening with a Right Arm Night Social starting at 4:30 p.m., a ribbon cutting ceremony at 5 p.m., and will be hosting the first event in the newly renovated facility -- Trivia Night, an interactive night of questions and answers starting at 7 p.m.

Patrons can preregister for Trivia Night in advance by Jan. 22 at 3pm for $20 per team or at the door the night of the event.

According to O'Donoghue, another event coming up in the next few weeks is; Comic Book Killer, an interactive Murder Mystery Night. Tickets are available online for $10 in advance or $15 at the door the night of the event.

The crime begins at 7 p.m., and the event is open to the public 18 years of age and older.

A Super Bowl Party will be held at the center starting at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 1.

A monthly Customer Appreciation Night will be held the first Thursday of each month starting Feb. 5 and Bunco returns to the PCC on Feb. 6. For a full list of upcoming events, check out the FMWR Web Site at www.fortleonardwoodmwr.com.
