Defense Acquisition Workforce Development Fund Program Manager, Talent Management Division

Describe your current position.

I am assigned to the G-1 Talent Management Division and responsible for the planning, programming, budgeting and execution of ACC's Defense Acquisition Workforce Development Fund. The ACC DAWDF program covers everything from the hiring of interns, rotational assignments, military exercise support, retention incentives, acquisition training and much more. In fiscal year 2015, I will oversee the execution of a $15 million budget and prepare the fiscal year 2016 budget.

Describe your background.

My previous contracting assignments include contracting officer for the 409th Contracting Support Brigade in Kaiserslautern, Germany, and director of Operations-J3 for the U.S. Central Command Joint Theater Support Contracting Command in Afghanistan. I received my bachelor's in Business Administration from Mercer University and my master's in Business Administration from Trident University.

Tell us more.

I was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, but have fallen in love with Huntsville. I've been married to my wonderful husband for 11 years and we have a fun little 4-year-old son.

How does your job support the Soldier?

The DAWDF program provides funding not only for Soldiers but is a huge enabler for the command's civilian acquisition workforce. I feel very blessed to be assigned to this position because I have gained an incredible amount of knowledge on the recruitment, retention, and development of the civilian workforce. Simultaneously, I am still able support our military with training resources as they train for our numerous missions oversees.
