CAMP ARIFJAN, Kuwait -- The Army Tire Assembly Repair Program at Camp Arifjan, Kuwait, falls under the Army Prepositioned Stock-5 and 402nd Army Field Support Brigade's area of responsibility.
The site, led by Joel Heller, Kuwait TARP supervisor, can repair 82 types of wheel assemblies and has been a sustainable addition to the 402nd AFSB since 2006.
The TARP receives unserviceable wheel assemblies from the retrograde mission at Camp Arifjan, as well as turn-ins from supply support activities in the AOR. This year, the Camp Arifjan TARP repaired 24 different types of wheel assemblies totaling more than 3,000.
The cost-savings for each assembly varies between $400 and $1,600. The ability to recover, repair and return unserviceable wheel assemblies to the supply system greatly supports the APS-5 mission and the Army Warfighter.
