JOINT BASE LEWIS-McCHORD, Wash. - The 7th Infantry Division held a ceremony for Col. James B. Jarrard, who was promoted to brigadier general. Jarrard is the 7th Inf. Div. deputy commanding general for operations. The ceremony took place at the JBLM French Theater, where he was presented honors as well as a general officer's flag, belt, pistol and a round from the salute battery. Among the distinguished guests was Gen. Joseph Votel, commanding general, United States Special Operations Command.
Jarrard has deployed in support of several comb operations to include Saudi Arabia, Iraq and Kuwait for Operation Desert Storm, Haiti for Operation Uphold Democracy, Afghanistan for Operation Enduring Freedom, and Iraq for Operation Iraqi Freedom.
