ANSBACH, Germany (Nov. 6, 2014) -- As part of its regular Friday morning training, the Ansbach garrison workforce is scheduled to take part in Winter Safety Day from 8 a.m. to noon Nov. 14 at Katterbach Fitness Center.
USAG Ansbach's Safety Office invites all members of the U.S. Army Garrison Ansbach community -- Soldiers, Family members, employees, veterans and retirees -- to participate as well.
The activities of the safety day will include qualification class on winter driving and distracted driving, an automated external defibrillator demonstration, sessions on skiing and hunting safety, advice on proper nutrition and healthy lifestyles, and a fire demonstration.
The Safety Office and other experts will deliver these events in German from 8 to 10 a.m. and in English from 10 a.m. to noon.
Behind the fitness center and the former location of the Commissary at Katterbach, community members may receive complimentary vehicle inspections to assess the vehicle's breaks, shocks and lights. Additionally, those who participate in the winter driving and distracted driving qualification classes can get their U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operator's Identification Card (OF-346) stamped.
Also at Katterbach Fitness Center, there will be static displays on personal protective equipment and safety markings.
