WASHINGTON (Oct. 21, 2014) -- The command team from the Joint Force Headquarters-National Capital Region and the U.S. Army Military District of Washington kicks off the 2014 flu season by being the first in line for the vaccine at Fort Lesley J. McNair.

Flu vaccine is available to all attached or assigned Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting System-eligible active duty, retired service members and Department of Defense (DoD) civilians from October 21 -22, 8 a.m. -- 2 p.m. at the Fort McNair Health Clinic.

For all those eligible for a flu vaccine, the health clinic recommends that recipients wear clothing that will allow technicians easy access to the upper arm.

The results of a screening questionnaire and available supply are used to determine whether a person will receive the flu mist or flu shot. There will be a 100 percent identification check for all military and Common Access Card (CAC) holders.

The command's goal is to reach 100 percent by December 15. For additional information please call the Fort McNair Clinic (202) 685-3100.
