Nulk named 2014 First Region AUSA DA Civilian of the Year

PICATINNY ARSENAL, N.J. (Oct. 21, 2014) -- Margaret "Missy" Nulk, a logistics manager with the U.S. Army Armament Research, Development and Engineering Center at Picatinny Arsenal, has been named the 2014 Association of the U.S. Army, First Region, Department of the Army Civilian of the Year.

Nulk received her award during the AUSA annual meeting and exposition in Washington D.C., from Oct. 13-15. Nulk was selected from among 22 chapters in First Region, said Jeffrey Meek, President of the Middle Forge AUSA Chapter at Picatinny Arsenal.

"Her contributions through her work impact deployed Soldiers every day. She is a model of selfless service," Meek added.

"She has overseen and supported a team of professionals to successfully field the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station (CROWS) to units across the United States, said Archie Johnson, her supervisor. "This fielding was comprised of Integration of hardware and new equipment training for the warfighter, which has been proven to save Soldier's lives. Missy is a valuable asset and key player."

In a letter sent to members of the AUSA Army Civilian Nomination Board, Nulk was recognized for coordinating the acquisition and shipment of 200 critically needed generators to support the Common Remotely Operated Weapon Station, helping to save the lives of our service members.

"I'm truly grateful for the efforts made on behalf of my nomination," Nulk said.

In addition to her civilian duties, she was also recognized for her community service to Picatinny Arsenal and the community.
