COL Brian W. Adams

COL Brian W. Adams is the Chief of Staff for the 94th Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC), Hickam AFB, Hawaii. He is a 1992 Distinguished Military Graduate from the University of South Florida with a Bachelors' Degree in Accounting. He possesses a Master's Degree in Business from Columbia Southern University in Alabama and a Master's Degree in Strategic Studies from the Air War College at Maxwell AFB, Alabama.

Since his commission in the United States Army Air Defense Artillery, COL Adams served in multiple positions beginning as a Vulcan Platoon Leader, Stinger Platoon Leader, and Battery Executive Officer in the 3rd Battalion, 4th Air Defense Artillery Regiment, 82d Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In 1995, he was selected to serve at the as the Aide-de-Camp to the Deputy Commanding General of the Air Defense Artillery Center at Fort Bliss, Texas. In 1997, he served an an Assistant S3 and commanded A Battery (Patriot), 6th Battalion, 52nd Air Defense Artillery in the 69th Air Defense Artillery Brigade, Ansbach, Germany. He deployed his Battery in support of Operation Southern Watch. In 2000, he then commanded the Joint Tactical Air Ground Station (JTAGS) Europe supporting European Command (EUCOM) in Stuttgart, Germany.

He attended the Command and General Staff College (CGSC) in 2003 at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. In 2004, COL Adams served in the 32d Army Air and Missile Defense Command (AAMDC) in the Operations Directorate, G3. In 2005, he served as the Operations Officer S3 and Executive Officer in for the 1st Battalion, 44th Air Defense Artillery (AMD) Composite Battalion in the 11th Air Defense Artillery Brigade at Fort Bliss, Texas. In 2007, he was selected to serve as the Aide-de-Camp Commanding General of Space and Missile Defense Command (SMDC) in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2008, he deployed to Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) and served in the Combined Joint Operations Center (CJ3) as a Targeting Officer, Baghdad, Iraq.

Once redeployed, COL Adams served as the Deputy Chief, Missiles Division in the Directorate of Combat Development for SMDC in Huntsville, Alabama. In 2010, he commanded the 2nd Battalion, 6th Air Defense Artillery (SHORAD), Fort Sill, Oklahoma. Following Battalion Command in 2012, he was selected to serve as the Director of Strategic Communications for the Commanding General, Fires Center of Excellence, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. In 2013, he attended the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Montgomery, Alabama.

COL Adams' awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal (Silver Leaf Cluster), Army Commendation Medal (3rd Oak Leaf Cluster), the Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal, the Army Achievement Medal, the Operation Iraqi Freedom Medal, the Armed Force Expeditionary Medal, the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, and the Senior Parachutist Badge.

COL Adams is married to Daniela Adams and has two children, Elise and Holden.
