Fort Worth District receives six USACE National Awards

FORT WORTH, Texas --The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers recognized five Fort Worth District team members and one Project Delivery Team for effectively providing innovative engineering solutions and outstanding leadership. The District received six awards at the 2014 Strategic Leader Conference, Aug. 7 in Fort Belvoir, Virginia during the National Awards Ceremony.

Each award acknowledged the individuals and team in six different categories from the top civilian award, which recognizes the single civilian employee achieving the highest overall standards of excellence to the Project Delivery Team award for contracting excellence.

"All of these award recipients are deserving of this top honor. Their contributions are an integral part of what helps us carry out our mission providing vital engineering services, sustainable environmental solutions to strengthen our Nation. Whenever one of our team members achieves greatness it exemplifies the success of the Fort Worth District," said Fort Worth District commander, Col. Charles Klinge.

• Dr. Rumanda K. Young; Lieutenant General John W. Morris Civilian of the Year Award

• Robert G. Adams; Natural Resources Management Environmental Compliance Employee of the Year Award

• Brandon Mobley; Natural Resources Management Stewardship Employee of the Year

• Edward Citzler; USACE Architect of the Year

• Tami Mahaffey; USACE Meritorious Logistician of the Year

• Construction Multiple Award Task Order Contracts Continuous Process Improvement Project; Project Delivery Team Award for Contracting Excellence
