KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany - Leadership from the 409th Contracting Support Brigade recently signed a partnership agreement with the German Army Procurement Office (BAAINBw) to enhance organizational relationships.

"The goal of the unit partnership program is to foster recurring familiarization among 409th CSB and the BAAINBw Purchasing Division," said Col. William J. Bailey, 409th CSB commander. "The partnership program will promote an active relationship contributing directly to the mutual appreciation and understanding of U.S. Army Europe and German military requirements and purchasing procedures."

The 409th CSB, headquartered here, supports garrison, expeditionary and contingency operations, and humanitarian assistance for U.S. Army Europe. The BAAINBw Purchasing Division is responsible for acquiring most of the supplies and services that the German army requires to perform its contingency and daily missions.

"This partnership will foster a training relationship and allow the 409th CSB to develop and sustain long-term, close relationships with a key allied unit," said Bailey.
