FORT BRAGG, N.C. (Aug. 27, 2014)--The intensity of their competitiveness was evident on each of the Soldier's faces as they listened to instructions about course layout, the timed events and objective criteria for one of the most competitive events for the U.S. Army Special Operations Command Soldiers this year. The 14 Soldiers were here at Fort Bragg, N.C., June 21, 2014, to begin the competition to find out which of them would represent the command at the upcoming Army's Best Warrior event taking place Nov. 19-22, 2014, at Fort Lee, Va.
"The Soldiers who are participating in this event, from E-3 to E-7, have put all their effort into winning", said Staff Sgt. Daniel A. Carter, USASOC Public Affairs NCO who provided photo coverage of the event. "After spending countless hours preparing, they are ready to put their best efforts into the competition."
After three days of competition, Spc. Kevin W. Shinnick, an Infantryman from A Co., 3rd Battalion, 75th Ranger Regiment and Sgt. 1st Class Matthew Carpenter, a Special Forces Soldier from C Co., 3rd Battalion, 10th Special Forces Group (Airborne) accumulated the highest scores in the seven graded events and were selected to represent USASOC at Fort Lee.
